Anesthesia

I'm wrapping up my month of anesthesia now. It's been a great month overall. I've learned skills that will serve me will here as well as overseas. I have racked up well over 50 spinals and epidurals and probably a dozen or better epidural steroid injections. I still have 3 days left and will try to bring it in strong on the home stretch. I feel very comfortable handling airway issues and have done scores of intubations and LMA placements. I've learned how to more properly assess the needs of anesthesia patients and dose medications for neuraxial anesthesia, induction of general anesthesia, and conscious sedation. One of the anesthesiologist in particular has been very kind in terms of pointing me towards excellent references for procedures and equipment needed for those procedures. This should be very useful for doing any kind of surgery below the diaphragm, particularly operative obstetric deliveries.
Aside from all of the anesthetic fun today, I'll be hacking away a the mound of paperwork needed for various activities from last year, this year, and next year- not that I'm overwhelmed or anything.
